What is a Recruitment Ad?

Recruitment advertising is the marketing process of capturing candidates’ interest in your company via advertisements, for the purpose of developing a talent pipeline. In today’s competitive talent market, recruitment advertising has become a popular and necessary strategy for employers to reach the candidates they need.

Why create a Careers page?

The bottom line is once you’ve attracted a potential candidate for your team you are going to want to further introduce your agency and team. People do business with those that they know like and trust. A “Careers” page helps potential agents get to the point of knowing, liking, and trusting you. You will also want to think about beefing up your “Meet the Team” on your website since people like to know who makes up your company/team and more about each team member.

What to include on your careers page:

  • What is Your Agency’s Mission Statement?
  • Core Values?
  • Why Join the Team?
  • Job brief/Responsibilities?
    • Ideal Job Description Length- Between 300-800 words
  • Requirements and skills?
  • Do you need to be a licensed real estate agent to join?
    • Do you offer Training & Coaching?
  • Do you offer marketing?
  • What else do you offer that separates you from the competition?
  • Benefits Offered?
  • Meet the Team

Each state has specific requirements for:

  • Age
  • Education requirements (such as a high school diploma or GED)
  • Prelicensing courses and post-licensing requirements
  • Exams and exam eligibility
  • Application process and fees
  • Background checks and fingerprinting
  • Continuing education
  • How to achieve the next level of licensing
  • Reporting criminal history

Some states have reciprocal licensing agreements with other states, which means you can get your license in one state and use it in another without having to take an additional license examination. New York, for example, has reciprocity with nine states including Arkansas,

The number of hours required, as well as passing scores and types of classes, differ by state. Other requirements are also necessary, including a background check and an affiliation with a managing or sponsoring broker for at least the first two years of your career.
